According to the public relations report, on Sunday, Bahman 14, 1403, in the presence of Dr. Mohsen Nouri, CEO of Kimia Pars Middle East Petrochemical Company, Dr. Mohammad Zein Ol-Abedin, Deputy Director of Supervision and Management of Petrofarhang Holding, and Dr. Kalantari Asl, Director of the Petroleum Industry Research Institute, the cooperation agreement was signed at the Petroleum Industry Research Institute.
Dr. Nouri, CEO of Kimia Pars Middle East Petrochemical Company, pointed out some problems and challenges in the petrochemical industry, especially the gas imbalance issue, and stated: Today, one of the important issues in the energy sector, and especially in the petrochemical industry, is the shortage of gas in the cold seasons. This problem can be solved by developing gas fields, repairing and restoring some closed wells that require wellhead and downhole equipment in gas fields, collecting flare gases and using them as feedstock for some petrochemicals, and other methods of supplying feedstock to this important industry, and we will see that petrochemical gas will no longer be cut off due to gas shortage.
The CEO of Kimia Pars Middle East Petrochemical Company, presenting a report on the amount of feedstock required by the petrochemical industries in the country and its equivalent to a maximum of 2.5 phases of Asaluyeh, added: Today, petrochemical companies are inclined to invest in the upstream sector of the oil industry and increase the production and productivity of existing wells and gas fields, in order to contribute significantly to resolving the gas imbalance and providing natural gas feedstock to this industry.
Dr. Nouri continued by stating the research and development priorities of Kimia Pars Petrochemical Middle East for cooperation with the Oil Industry Research Institute and added: The purpose of holding the present meeting and concluding the cooperation agreement is to use the technical knowledge and high capabilities of the Oil Industry Research Institute in various subjects, including simulation and modeling of the methanol production process to optimize various parameters and increase the gas to methanol conversion rate, examining the corrosion status and predicting the corrosion rate in various equipment and facilities to deal with it appropriately and in a timely manner, examining various catalysts of Kimia Pars Petrochemical Middle East and providing appropriate solutions to increase their life, optimizing energy in the unit, appropriately using the produced hydrogen and converting it into high-value-added materials, examining the methanol value chain and converting it into higher-value-added compounds and moving towards modern and more profitable processes in the petrochemical industry, and in general, studying, researching and investigating subjects to improve the current process of Kimia Pars Petrochemical Middle East.
He considered the most effective and important measure to address the problems and challenges in the petrochemical industry and the entire oil industry, especially during the sanctions, to be the use of the scientific and research capabilities of centers such as the Petroleum Industry Research Institute, and emphasized increasing communication between the industry and scientific and research centers.
Dr. Zein Ol-Abedin, Deputy Director of Supervision and Management of Petrofarhang Holding, briefly introduced the subsidiary petrochemical Companies, manufactured products, and projects and units under development, and expressed the activities and important issues in order to improve existing processes, adding: “The current topic of the day in the world is artificial intelligence, which will create a huge transformation in all fields in the not too distant future; therefore, this holding is considering the development and launch of a comprehensive and complete project to use artificial intelligence in various scientific, technical, managerial, and strategic planning fields in order to make dynamic and effective decisions at the macro level of the holding.” He considered the signing of a cooperation agreement between Kimia Pars Petrochemical Middle East and the Oil Industry Research Institute to resolve existing problems and challenges as a suitable opening for the development of knowledge-based cooperation, and added that this action will increase the hope for creating new ideas to further increase the productivity of Kimia Pars Petrochemical and other units of subsidiaries of Petrofarhang Holding. Dr. Kalantari Asl, the head of the Petroleum Industry Research Institute, presented a report on the activities carried out and ongoing at the institute and stated: The purpose of establishing the institute is to help solve the problems and challenges of the oil industry using modern science and technology, and added that with the measures taken, we hope to be able to cooperate appropriately in various fields, including studying and implementing various scenarios to provide petrochemical feedstock during peak consumption and gas imbalances in the cold seasons, developing technical knowledge in manufacturing various catalysts and using more suitable compounds to optimize and increase their life, using artificial intelligence in various processes and studies and implementing it in developing ongoing technical knowledge, helping to simulate and optimize existing processes in order to convert gas into high-value-added products and compounds. In general, the Petroleum Industry Research Institute, as the scientific and technical arm of this important industry, will always be alongside petrochemical complexes.
