On the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of the establishment of the institution;

Foundational Measures for a Brighter Future at the Teachers Investment Fund

17 Khordad 1374 (May 28, 1995), the Teachers Investment Fund was established with a clear objective and a well-defined mission: to enhance the livelihood capacity and improve the welfare of Iran’s community of educators. These devoted individuals, who have spent years wholeheartedly educating and nurturing the children of this land, deserved an economic institution that could support them during their retirement years.

Today, thirty-two years have passed since the establishment of the Teachers Investment Fund, and during this time the institution has experienced a history full of ups and downs. At times it has witnessed great and remarkable successes, and at other times, for various reasons, it has not been able to perform in a manner worthy of our esteemed educators. This is a reality that cannot simply be overlooked.

As someone who has closely experienced the concerns and challenges of this community, when I first joined the institution I encountered a large number of accumulated challenges, structural issues, and the legitimate demands of educators. I knew that a heavy responsibility rested on my shoulders; yet at the same time, I recognized it as a rare opportunity to fulfill my duty to the educational community. Therefore, we did not shy away from the challenges. With trust in God, we entered the field and turned threats into opportunities.

With the support and trust of 1.8 million active and retired educator members of the institution, the cooperation of the Board of Directors, the guidance of the Board of Trustees, the support of governing institutions, and the dedicated efforts of my colleagues in the institution, its holdings, and subsidiary companies, we addressed the Fund’s most significant challenges. Fortunately, by the grace of God, we have achieved major, fundamental, and unprecedented accomplis Drafting the Strategic Plan and Its Approval by the Board of Trustees for the First Time

During this management period, the strategic plan of the Teachers Investment Fund was prepared and, for the first time, approved by the Board of Trustees. This document emphasizes several highly important issues, including exiting enterprise management as the institution’s primary strategy and a foundation for realizing ownership value, facilitating the entry of companies into the capital market, and restructuring corporate entities.

Unprecedented Records in Profitability and Wealth Creation

Over the past two years, the financial performance of the management for the institution’s respected members has been clear and honorable:

– Record-breaking increases in the institution’s profitability for two consecutive years
– Regular monthly payment of members’ shares in less than one month after receiving retirement information

In the area of wealth creation for members, significant achievements have also been realized—particularly in the petrochemical sector. In addition to the effective management of existing petrochemical companies, we successfully completed the mega-project of the second phase of Sabalan Petrochemical.

Exiting Enterprise Management as the Core Strategy

During the current management period, based on expert decision-making and precise economic and financial evaluations—and in line with improving agility, increasing efficiency, and focusing on profitable and high-yield sectors—the process of exiting loss-making, low-yield, non-productive, and unrelated businesses has been placed on the agenda. This process is being carried out in accordance with carefully defined timelines.

Corporate Restructuring: The Largest Transformational Initiative

One of the most significant achievements of this management period has been the restructuring of companies and businesses, as many of the institution’s historical challenges stemmed from this issue. By reducing the institution’s holdings from six to two—Petrofarhang and Cultural Investment—the path toward resolving many problems and challenges has effectively been smoothed.

Alongside the persistent pursuit of corporate restructuring, the necessary measures have been taken to facilitate the entry of selected holdings and companies into the capital market. This step will increase transparency and provide the practical foundation for implementing ownership value—one of the long-standing and primary demands of the institution’s educator members—through a correct, scientific, and practical approach.

Foundational Measures for a Brighter Future

– Creating economic added value through resolving many accumulated legal cases and establishing organizational mechanisms to pursue remaining cases
– Establishing procedures and infrastructure necessary to provide welfare services to members (including banking facilities and welfare services), enabling many educators to benefit from these services over the past year
– Completing and determining the status of several unfinished projects
– Returning idle assets to the cycle of production and service
– Launching several major national-level projects
– Implementing and operating five comprehensive transparency systems, with plans to develop additional systems
– Strengthening corporate governance by utilizing the capacities of smart governance

The Institution Is in One of the Best Periods of Its History

In summary, the Teachers Investment Fund today stands in one of the strongest positions in its history in terms of organizational and administrative structure, transparency, efficiency, financial and legal integrity, and profitable investments. This position has made the path toward sustainable profitability, wealth generation, and improved service to members smoother than ever before.

Therefore, with full determination and stronger than before, we will continue along this path and remain committed to the pledge we have made to our esteemed educators.

Future Outlook: Experiencing the True Meaning of Membership

Considering the foundational measures and infrastructure that have been established, with the improvement of the country’s economic conditions, the Teachers Investment Fund and its members will significantly benefit from these developments and experience the true meaning of membership in this institution—membership that is defined not merely in words, but in real profitability, wealth creation, and meaningful service.

I congratulate all esteemed educators, respected members of the institution, and my hardworking colleagues in the institution, its holdings, and subsidiary companies on the thirty-second anniversary of the establishment of this major economic institution. I pray to Almighty God for honor, health, and ever-increasing success for all.
