According to the Public Relations office of Siraf Energy Petrochemical Company, through the support and strategic leadership of the CEO, the approval of the Board of Directors, and the continuous, specialized efforts of the Commercial Department—particularly the logistics division—three shipments of strategic project equipment were successfully cleared from customs. These items had been held at customs for over 2,000 days due to challenges and constraints related to foreign exchange processes.
This achievement was made possible following the Board of Directors’ approval to proceed with the customs clearance of imported equipment via “non-banking currency commitment” procedures. By adopting necessary measures within the framework of relevant laws and regulations, the company successfully facilitated the release of the equipment from the Siraf dedicated warehouse.
The cleared shipments include Plate Heat Exchangers, Fittings & Flanges for the Water System (related to the Water and Offsite unit), and Magnetic Level Gauges for the process area. The total value of these assets is estimated at approximately €2,446,265.
Furthermore, following the completion of customs formalities, documents concerning the settlement of currency commitments for these shipments were submitted to the agent bank to finalize the required legal and financial processes in accordance with regulatory standards.
The clearance of this equipment marks a significant step in removing obstacles to the supply of strategic project goods, mitigating risks associated with long-term storage at customs, and accelerating the company’s operational schedules. This success underscores the synergy and effective cooperation between the management, the Board of Directors, and specialized departments in advancing the development goals of Siraf Energy Petrochemical.
